I endorse The Coalition For Improving Maternity Services & The Mother-Friendly Initiative

Over the past several years I have accompanied over 200 families on their
journey through pregnancy and childbirth. My experiences have included VBAC’s (as well as VBAMC’s & HBAC’s), medicated & unmedicated births, waterbirths, induced labors, cesarean deliveries, multiples, premature births, high risk pregnancies, teens and families with strong religious affiliations in both hospital and home settings. I have experience working with families who’ve taken HypnoBirthing, HypnoBabies, The Bradley Method, Birthing From Within, independent out-of hospital and in-hospital childbirth classes.

Like many other doulas, I found my calling to birth work after my own pregnancies. During my first pregnancy, I saw a ‘cookie cutter’ maternal health care system that put all women through care that was best for the system, but may not have been best for the mother or child. While my first birth was nowhere near ideal, during my second pregnancy I decided I wanted other women to have everything I went without the first time;  someone to provide support, resources, knowledge and advocacy.

I believe that pregnancy and childbirth is a normal, healthy life process and that women’s bodies were uniquely designed to create life and give birth. While I specialize and enthusiastically encourage natural, unmedicated, uninterrupted childbirth, I am comfortable supporting any choice that you make for your
birthing experience to be perfect for you.

My goal is to ensure that you are educated about the choices available to you during your childbearing year, the resources available locally, prepared emotionally, physically and spiritually for labor, and that you and your partner are supported throughout the childbearing year to ultimately ensure it’s a positive birth experience.

My family consists of my loving, supportive and extremely understanding husband, our 2 daughters, the first joined us via cesarean, the second joined us at a home water birth after cesarean (HWBAC or VBAC) just 14 months later using HypnoBirthing methods. We also share our home with a rescued French Bulldog named Tilde Lulu. Please spay/neuter your pets and don’t purchase pets from backyard breeders or puppy mills!

While I am a San Francisco Bay Area native, my husband was born and raised right here in the Metro East. After living in Las Vegas for several years we met at introduction of mutual friends and married shortly thereafter.
